What this node does

A Bitcoin full node enforces the consensus rules of the Bitcoin protocol.

It does not create or host illegal content, and it does not have the ability to alter or censor transactions. Its role is purely to validate data against Bitcoin’s consensus rules (such as verifying digital signatures, block structure, and transaction validity) and to share that data with peers.

This node keeps no special logs of who connects to it, nor does it control where the data ultimately comes from or goes to.

In that sense, it functions like an Internet router dedicated to Bitcoin traffic — neutral, automated, and rules-based.

Social purpose

Full nodes are run by people around the world who believe in open access to financial infrastructure.

They provide censorship resistance, transparency, and auditability of the Bitcoin ledger to anyone who chooses to use it.
This node contributes a small part to that global, decentralized network.
